"Art is a man's nature; nature is God's art."
Philip James Bailey
Today we take for granted that landscapes
include depictions of land in its primitive state, untouched
and uninfluenced by civilization. Really, the search of
landscapes in nature began in the late 18th century with
the romantic movement - when the raw untouched wilderness
became a source of healthy feelings that offers therapy
for a diseased, overcivilized heart. Prior to that much
of landscape art included pastoral or medieval scenes
where civilization have tamed the wilderness.
In the 21th century, landscapes are solemnly
devoid of the influence of man - here I depict a collection
of photos taken from around the world - from Equator and
China to the US and Canada.
